The future of clean air begins with the choices we make today, and in Diepkloof, those choices are already taking root. On the 6th of March 2026, Insighteey Health Foundation led a meaningful “Breathe Better Together” campaign at Thabisile Primary School, bringing together learners, educators, and community partners to take action against air pollution.

At the heart of the campaign was a simple but powerful message: “My Tree, My Oxygen, My Clean Air.” Through the planting of ten trees, the initiative went beyond awareness and created a living solution to air pollution. Learners and teachers were guided on the importance of air quality, the dangers of pollution, and practical steps to reduce environmental harm, especially in school environments where clean air is essential for health and learning.

As the campaign unfolded, it became clear that the need for action was urgent. Many learners were already experiencing respiratory challenges, and limited awareness around air quality highlighted the importance of continued education. In response, the initiative not only informed but empowered, encouraging the school community to take responsibility for maintaining cleaner spaces, improving ventilation, and preventing illegal dumping.

The newly planted trees now stand as symbols of growth, protection, and hope, helping to improve air quality while inspiring a culture of environmental care.
